Enhanced camera modules using ultrasonic ceramic motors

miniswys has invented and refined a family of cost-effective, proprietary and patented ultrasonic ceramic micromotors that can be optimized for mid to high mass production applications for OEM applications in highly challenging B2B markets.

The miniswys motors are very well adapted for use as high-speed actuators across a whole spectrum of applications, including:

  • autofocus for telecommunication systems (camera module)
  • optical image stabilization for telecommunication and automotive imaging
  • zoom applications
  • dual camera systems

Compared to other technologies, the miniswys ultrasonic ceramic motors have an extremely simple structure and offer very attractive key features, including a long stroke length, very low energy consumption (which is constant over the full stroke) and high speed.

    The key features of this miniswys autofocus module are its long stroke length (about 0.5 mm), very low energy consumption (minimizes battery drain), no current draw at standstill (also reduces battery drain), high bandwidth and no temperature increase (even during continuous use).

    The autofocus camera module is also compatible with heavy lens barrels (e.g. glass).

    Thanks to the compactness of the miniswys ultrasonic ceramic motors, camera modules equipped with an OIS system and autofocus are only slightly larger than standard camera modules and can benefit from of all the key features of the miniswys technology, including bandwidth, high speed, long stroke and extremely low energy use. The 3-axis actuators (X,Y and AF ) all use the same motors and technology, simplifying the electronic driver.
