Synlight Semiconductor specializes in the R&D, production, and sales of SiC single crystal substrates. Founded in 2012 with a total investment of 3.7 billion RMB, Synlight has quickly risen to become a tier 1 company in the SiC substrate industry.
Synlight operates three plants: Baoding Phase I/II and Laiyuan. These facilities cover the entire production process, from raw material synthesis and crystal growth to substrate processing and wafer testing. Upon completion of Baoding Phase II, the total production capacity will exceed 1 million substrates annually.
The company has forged stable partnerships with leading global epitaxy and device manufacturers, including Infineon, Onsemi, BOSC, ROHM, Great Wall, BYD, and Toyota.
Synlight is certified under various quality management systems, including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001, GB/T 29490, and IATF 16949. In collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Synlight established the R&D Center and Test Platform with over 20 advanced testing devices for third-generation semiconductor materials and SiC monocrystals.
Synlight already achieved mass production of 8-inch substrates, developed 10-inch substrates in May 2024, and completed 12-inch substrate development in January 2025. Synlight already possesses a stable and mature high-quality production process for high light-transmittance SiC wafers required by AI+AR glasses.
