Integrating 2D materials into silicon-based semiconductors
The 2D-Pilot Line (2D-PL) is a European-funded project working toward the integration of graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) into existing silicon-based semiconductor platforms.
The main goal is to further develop 2D material (2DM) fabrication within an industrially relevant FAB environment. The project will focus on maturing integration modules for photonic and electronic devices and circuits, catering to a broad range of stakeholders including academic institutions, research centers, SMEs, large companies, IDMs, and foundries.
A key offering of the 2D-PL are the multi-project wafer (MPW) runs. These allow customer-designed components (dies) to be included on shared wafers. MPW runs will be available for both graphene and TMDC-based devices, supporting a wide range of photonic and electronic applications.
