 Press Releases

  • TEMPE, AZ, January 14, 2019—Versum Materials, Inc. (NYSE: VSM), a leading materials and equipment supplier to the semiconductor industry, will showcase its next-generation of specialty gases, materials and delivery systems and services in Booth 420, (located on the third floor) at SEMICON Korea. The event takes place January 23-25 at the COEX Conference and Exhibition Center in Seoul.

For the past 30 years, Versum has supplied a full range of localized delivery systems to the region. Representatives from the company will demonstrate two pieces of fabwide equipment during the exhibition—the GasKeeper™ Gas Cabinet and the ChemKeeper™ Chemical Delivery System.

Versum will also showcase ION-X®, a new line of products developed in collaboration with NuMat Technologies for the safe storage and delivery of subatmospheric dopant gases such as arsine, phosphine and boron trifluoride. With its Metal-Organic Framework (MOF), ION-X can selectively adsorb, store and safely deliver ultra-high purity gases at sub-atmospheric pressures. ION-X offers performance advantages over traditional carbon-based adsorbent technology used in the ion implant processes for the manufacture of semiconductor devices.

In addition to the ION-X, Versum will showcase several of its latest advanced container offerings. As part of the materials that the company provides, its containers are developed with the customers’ specific needs and tools in mind to enable the safe handling and delivery of the molecules. Versum continues to innovate new techniques to provide these products to its customers more efficiently and safely.

Versum is also in the process of making significant investments in its technology capabilities in Korea. A new CMP Center of Excellence is now under construction and is expected to be in operation in late 2019. Representatives from its Planarization business will be on hand to update customers on the capabilities of the new facility.

“The long-term outlook for our industry remains robust and we see significant opportunities to revolutionize semiconductor manufacturing technology. We continue to invest in expanding our innovation capabilities, adding capacity, and drive productivity to support the regional semiconductor industry growth,” said Guillermo Novo, CEO of Versum Materials. “We look forward to meeting with our partners and customers at SEMICON Korea to share details about our strategic investments in scale-up and high-volume manufacturing within our five Korean production facilities and investments to our deposition and CMP portfolios.”

BEWARE - Special Warning Notice about ExpoGuide and FAIRGuide

With the ongoing solicitations, SEMI would like to continue to alert you with questionable professional practices perpetrated against exhibitors by (Austria) and Expo Guide (Mexico), Event Fair - The Exhibitors' Guide with their misleading directory services. There may be others that we are not aware of and are hence not named here.

These companies provide legitimate exhibition guides aimed at exhibitors across the globe offering online listing services. They use a form which resembles and organizer's free catalogue listing service, inviting exhibitors to complete the form for an entry in an on-line directory. Unsuspecting exhibitors who sign and return the form are then contracted into a three-year, non-retractable agreement, which could cost the exhibitor a significant amount of money, with very limited foreseeable benefits. The details are often available on the form itself, but are often too small and insignificant to be noticed. It is always wise to really the small print before signing a contract, and if the information is impossible to read then the contract should not be signed. These publications have no connection with SEMI or any of our events, and it is important that all companies are made aware of this.

Should you receive any communication from the Expo-Guide and or related company, please IGNORE THEM COMPLETELY and DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THEM IN ANY WAY.
