  SurplusGLOBAL and POSTECH NINT sign MoU to promote the industrialization of semiconductor technology, convergence technology, and advanced technology

   On the 25^{th of} October 2021, SurplusGLOBAL signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for technological improvement and development with the Nano Convergence Technology Institute (NINT) of POSTECH at the new headquarters of the Semiconductor Equipment Cluster in Yong-In, South Korea. The signing ceremony was attended by SurplusGLOBAL CEO Bruce Kim and POSTECH National Institute for Nanomaterials Technology President Jin-Gon Kim.

  The purpose of this agreement is to provide technical cooperation to each organization between the NINT (National Institute for Nanomaterials Technology) at Pohang University of Science and Technology, and SurplusGLOBAL. The NINT supports the industrialization of technologies owned by technology commercialization companies by utilizing advanced equipment, facilities, and process and analysis technologies. SurplusGLOBAL was conducted to promote the commercialization of semiconductor technology, convergence technology, and advanced technology using its own technology and equipment.

  The fields of cooperation in the technical agreement include ‘joint research and commissioned research’, ‘joint use of research facilities and equipment, and ‘exchange of technology and education with research personnel’.

  SurplusGLOBAL CEO Bruce Kim said, “This is our first technical agreement that was conducted after the relocation of the new headquarters for SurplusGLOBAL in Yong-In, and so it was very meaningful opportunity to usher in the second act of SurplusGLOBAL.” and “We look forward to working closely with POSTECH NINT in regarding R&D Foundry service and business model.” he added.

  Meanwhile, SurplusGLOBAL has moved to a new building with a floor space of 68,317m2 in last Aug 2021 and is expecting to have about 20 to 30 semiconductor-related companies will move-in in the first half of 2022.

  Tenfold export growth in ten years since the 10 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize in 2011

  SurplusGLOBAL (www.SurplusGLOBAL.com), a world-class second-hand semiconductor equipment trader, announced that it received the 100 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize at the 58th Trade Day ceremony on the 6th. The Export Tower Award is awarded on Trade Day on December 5 every year according to the export performance of companies contributing to export growth despite difficult economic conditions. 

  In addition, at the ceremony, SurplusGLOBAL CEO Jeong-woong Kim received the Industrial Medal, and Executive Director Byeong-do Park received the Presidential Citation, respectively.

  Since winning the 1 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize in 2003, SurplusGLOBAL has established overseas branches and increased the export volume. It received the 5 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize and the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Citation on Trade Day in 2007; the 10 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize in 2011; the 20 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize in 2012; the 30 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize and the President's Award in 2015; the 50 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize after being listed on KOSDAQ in 2017; and the 70 Million Dollar Export Tower Prize in 2018.

Following the construction of the semiconductor equipment cluster in Yongin in August, the Company opened a new era with a new corporate building. So far, the Company operates overseas subsidiaries in China, the United States, Japan, Taiwan, and Singapore. In September, the Company expanded its first overseas semiconductor equipment warehouse in Taiwan to expand its global network, giving an impetus to sustainable management.

   SurplusGLOBAL has now officially announced the relocation of its new headquarters in Yongin-si at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held at the Semiconductor Equipment Cluster on 30^th July 2021.

  The Semiconductor Equipment Cluster has a gross floor space of 68,317 sqm, which is three times larger than its existing warehouses located in Osan-si, this new building boasts a clean room of 2,181 sqm and an air-controlled warehouse of 59,504 sqm.

  “Semiconductor Equipment Cluster plan was what we have been dreaming about during the past decade and it has finally become a reality” said Bruce Kim, SurplusGLOBAL’s CEO. “The Semiconductor Equipment Cluster’s massive size and optimal layout allow us to provide a large-scale cleanroom and additional solutions for our customers. We have over 1,000 pre-owned semiconductor equipment available for inspection or demonstration which enables us to create a one-stop platform for the secondary semiconductor equipment industry. Indeed, our facility may be capable of producing and selling 300mm Thin Film Wafers. Our 300mm R&D Test Bed will allow us to provide various analysis services for product performance evaluation for semiconductor parts companies, rental of customized research space, equipment training center, venture incubation business, and semiconductor education business.” he added.

  Finally, he also mentioned, "As a global hub for pre-owned semiconductor equipment, services, and components, we will strive to build an important infrastructure for the global semiconductor ecosystem."
