  • We design, develop, and manufacture innovative maskless laser lithography systems for the fabrication of micro-structures, serving the global photolithography community in both the direct writing field and in photomask production. Application areas include MEMS, micro-optics, advanced packaging (3DIC), IC, flat panel displays (FPD), micro-fluidics, sensors, and analog and digital electronic components. Our systems are used in more than 50 countries in research and development, rapid prototyping, and industrial production.

Founded in 1984, and based in Heidelberg, Germany, we have long since evolved into a world leader in our field, with a deep well of knowledge of laser photolithography, optics, electronics, and engineering craftsmanship to draw upon. In 2020 we sold our 1000th system.

In 2018, SwissLitho joined Heidelberg Instruments: A young high-tech company based in Zurich, Switzerland, with the vision to change the way nanostructures are commonly made. Since its foundation in 2012, the multi-national and interdisciplinary team of the company now known as Heidelberg Instruments Nano has received many of the most prestigious national and international start-up and technology awards. Most recently, in 2021, we have been joined by the German company Multiphoton Optics so that our portfolio now includes also true 3D lithography in the shape of Two-Photon-Polymerization Lithography.

At Heidelberg Instruments, we are committed to constantly redefining the limits of laser lithography and exploring new methods of micro- and nanotechnology.
