From our foundation in 1999, we lead the localization and manufacture of wafer transfer robot for semiconductor process tool. Through our continuous research and development, we provide the customized product in accordance with customer’s requirement. 

Developing more than 200 types of robots based on our own technologies and over 20 years of accumulated experience, we established the full product line-up for robots used   front-end to back-end process. 

We also provide the robots for industrial, educational and service use. With our technical basis of robot, we now expand our business to bio, Medi-bio device and dental milling system and spread our products to domestic as well as overseas partners.

  • On the 5th, the Robot Newspaper selected and announced 26 companies for "2022 Korea Robot Company of the Year 2022."

    A total of 26 companies were selected as the Korea Robot Company of the Year 2022 in five categories, including industrial robots, professional service robots, personal service robots, robot parts, and robot SW/platform, by evaluating the achievements and future growth potential of companies, CEO management capabilities, and market performance.

    If you look at the selected companies by category, the robot category for professional services is Robots and Design and has been awarded for two consecutive years.

    Robots and Design is a leader in localization of robots for semiconductors established in 1999. Through continuous research and development and production, we provide robots optimized for customers' needs and specifications.

    Based on technology and experience accumulated for more than 20 years, more than 200 types of robots have been developed, and a lineup of robots that can be used for the back end in the front end of semiconductors has been established. Based on robot technology, it is expanding its business to industrial, educational, service robots, bio, and medical bio areas in addition to the semiconductor industry, and expanding its sales to domestic and overseas. It aims to become a global robot company beyond Korea with the value of customer satisfaction first.

    Major production products include semiconductor wafer transport robots, FOUP (Front Opening Unified Pod) opener, EFEM (Equipment Front End Module), and ATM (Aligner trimming machine). Major technologies include robot structure design and dynamic analysis technology, ultra-precision positioning technology, vision application technology, and semiconductor robot technology team that has studied for 20 years.

    In October, it won the 2022 Robot Industry Development Merit Industrial Packaging and was selected as the Korean Robot Company of the Year for the second consecutive year between 2021 and 2022.

  • The Seoul Dental Association (Chairman Kim Min-gyeom, Seoul Branch) and Robots and Design (Chairman Kim Jin-oh) will launch joint research to develop dental suction robots. On the 25th of last month, the two organizations held a business agreement ceremony for joint research at the Dental Association Hall. The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Min-gyeom, chairman of the Seoul branch, Park Kyung-oh and Yoon Wang-ro material directors, Choi Min-sik, information and communication directors, and Kim Jin-oh, chairman of Robots and Design, and Bum Hee-rak, vice president.

    Prior to the full-fledged business agreement, Seoul Branch Chairman Kim Min-kyum and Robots and Design Chairman Kim Jin-oh expressed the background of the business agreement and future plans. First of all, Chairman Kim Min-gyeom said, "The shortage of assistants is the biggest challenge in the dental industry that is still underway. In addition, the influx of manpower to dentistry is expected to decrease further as the productive population decreases due to changes in the population structure. This environmental change has changed to the perception that the dental community cannot solve the shortage of assistant manpower unless it changes itself, and efforts to break it down are sprouting little by little. "The development of dental suction robots and equipment, which will be jointly researched by the Seoul branch and Robots and Design, is also expected to significantly improve productivity in dentistry by replacing high-labor suction work as part of this effort," he added.



    Kim Jin-oh, chairman of Robots and Design, said, "We formed a connection with the dental community by releasing the chair side milling machine, and in the process, we met the dental community's demand for suction robots. While internally agreeing on the need for suction robots, we signed a business agreement with a good proposal from the Seoul branch, he said. "We will do our best until the development of suction robots comes to fruition in cooperation with the Seoul branch."

    With this business agreement, the Seoul branch and robot and design agencies will launch joint research to develop dental suction robots. For the common goal of developing dental suction robots, the two sides will make the most of their capabilities and resources. In particular, he was determined to produce meaningful results by not setting a separate validity period for the business agreement and maintaining the agreement until the development of dental suction robots is completed.

    A new alternative is highlighted

    Amid various attempts to solve the job shortage, attention is being paid to whether suction robots can be a new alternative. There are doubts from the opinion that "it is still too early" to "whether it will be realistic." However, the important thing is that from suction aids to serving robots appear, and the environment of the clinic at the cost of opening is already changing.

    Director A of Seoul recently purchased suction aid equipment. It was very helpful to be able to hold a suction in a reality where it was difficult to find a medical staff. Now, each chair is equipped with one, hand and foot with a machine, not a person. Director A went one step further and put in one serving robot. Serving robots, which are often seen in restaurants, bring necessary equipment and equipment on behalf of the medical staff. Set up the necessary equipment in advance and press the button at the necessary location, such as a unit chair, to bring it to where you can reach. The degree to which the robot vacuum cleaner is operated when leaving work has already become a daily routine.

    Director A said, "In addition to the considerable investment cost, we needed time to get used to the use of equipment, and efforts to redistribute the role of the medical staff into other tasks other than suction, but we are now fully satisfied."

    Another director said, "It is said that nearby clinics are accepting and storing kiosks instead of waiting room staff," adding, "As the use of kiosks is becoming common, patients seem to have less inconvenience in using them and less manpower consumption."
