PI (Physik Instrumente) exhibits three standard axes at the Semicon show that are combined into an XYZ setup. This industrial multi-axis system is controlled by an ACS motion control module for optimum synchronization of the axes and simultaneous control of the laser in the Z axis. This is an exemplary application in laser material processing.
The axes used in this system are variants of the L-417 and V-417 series, which are available in various versions with travel ranges from 100 to 800 mm. Widths from 120 to 230 mm are possible for various different loads. Powerful, low-wear magnetic direct drives are available for high velocities and as an alternative, drive screw axes can also be provided or alternatively, drive screw axes can be made available that are self-locking in vertical operation. Different encoder variants including absolute-measuring sensors offer resolutions in a range of only a few nanometers.
This results in a versatile modular range of products for industry-capable precision machining applications.
