AI Deep Learning Machine Vision Inspection Solutions

The power of Deep Learning is increasingly becoming a game changer with automation that is faster, cheaper and more superior. Visual inspection is a high priority activity in many industries. Automated Visual inspection removes the need for human involvement resulting in automated systems that easily surpasses the standard of manual inspection. Deep learning is good at addressing complex surface and cosmetic defects, like scratches and dents on parts that are turned, brushed, or shiny. Whether used to locate, read, inspect, or classify features of interest, deep learning-based image analysis differs from traditional machine vision in its ability to conceptualize and generalize a part’s appearance.

DZUKI is a research and development company specializing in AI Deep learning Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines. We developed our own camera system powered by the world's smallest AI supercomputer installed with our AI Deep Learning software with inbuilt object detection and classification modules. The camera system is used in our bespoke AOI systems for defect detection, parts classification, assembly verification etc for many industries. Our AI Deep Learning software also runs on PCs with or without GPUs. The software can also be configured to support other vision system without AI capabilities. The software is also IOT enabled allowing data to be sent to the cloud and monitored from any device.

  • The camera system is powered by the world's smallest AI supercomputer, the Jetson Xavier NX. It comes installed with Tensorflow and Keras, The operating system is Ubuntu 18.4. An inbuilt object detection module and a classification module allow users to easily deploy deep learning image processing for defect detection and parts classification such as OK/NG. The modules are also designed to communicate with a PLC thus allowing the camera system to be part of an automation system for example rejecting or binning parts. The modules are also IOT ready which means data on detection and classification can be sent to cloud.

  • The AI Camera Nano is powered by the Jetson Nano. This system uses a built in camera with fixed focal length. It has the same deep learning modules as installed in the DZUKI SuperAI camera but runs at a lower speed. Therefore it is suitable where speed is not critical. It is also designed to communicate with a PLC and is IOT ready.

  • The development system is suitable for developers looking for a low cost AI Deep Learning vision system for automated inspection systems, robotic vision systems, hobbyists and education. The system consists of a 7” touch screen display, Jetson Xavier NX, mini keyboard and a 8MP camera. A PLC is optional. The operating system is Ubuntu and comes preinstalled with python modules for deep learning detection and classification. A video tutorial is included to set up the first project, IOT link to ThingSpeak and PLC.

Its a self contained unit with monitor, cpu/gpu, xy stepper motors and driver, plc for external communication, LED lighting, camera and lens, mini keyboard ,wifi/ethernet and IOT enabled. Its customizable with a wide range of travels, short and long. Options are available for application-specific camera / optics / illumination module. Automatically generates reject and accept signals to a PLC that can be used for communication with robots or other automation equipment. NO programming knowledge needed. For detecting different types of defects, just take a large number of pictures of each type of defect, label them, train the system and deploy all in 5 simple steps.

  • Image Classification helps us to classify what is contained in an image. Our deep learning image classification software was developed to provide a system that is easy to set up in a step by step approach. It's menu driven and runs on Windows 10 OS. It also runs on Ubuntu and Mac (command driven). For image classification the steps involve capturing or importing image samples, classifying the samples, training the samples, analysis and real time deployment. The models generated can be imported into the image classification module in our AI Deep Learning cameras. Application is when the overall image of a part needs to be examined for example of an assembled part or packaging. For agricultural products such as fruits to decide the grade.

  • Defect detection involves drawing a bounding box around each defect of interest in the image and assigns them a class label. Our Deep Learning defect detection software was developed to make it easy to set up for deployment in a step by step approach. It's menu driven and runs on Windows 10 OS. It also runs on Ubuntu and Mac (command driven). For defect detection the steps involve capturing or importing image samples, labelling the defects of interest on the sample images, training the samples, evaluating and selecting the models for real time deployment. The models generated can be imported into the defect detection module in our AI Deep Learning cameras. Application is when the user needs to identify various defects for analysis in improving processes.
