Ingersoll Rand (IR) recently supplied Tesla, the world’s bestselling plug-in and battery-electric car manufacturer, with six NX8000 compressors for their Gigafactory in Berlin, Germany. Now, Tesla has decided that IR has the best range of products, service, pricing and support to help them develop their service centres in Europe!
“The strategic sales and sales enablement CARE teams across Europe have done a fantastic job in securing an extension to the existing PackageCARE agreement with the ultimate goal being to provide Tesla an end to end solution for their compressed air needs,” said Conrad Hunt, sales director, strategic accounts. “We’d like to start with the manufacturing process at one of Tesla’s Gigafactories and follow the car to being serviced at one of their service centres—we want the air used in service to come from an Ingersoll Rand compressor! And there are other opportunities that exist too, such as nitrogen tire filling, so the team will be following up on those too.”

Tesla is planning to significantly ramp up service with at least one new service centre opening per week across 2021 resulting in 13 new IR machines being installed in Q2 alone—and they turned to IR for help. We’ve now expanded our existing PackageCARE agreement across 76 Tesla European Union service centers covering all IR products and non-IR equipment, making IR a trusted partner as Tesla’s preferred supplier for complete maintenance and service for 95% of their service garages in Europe.
Tesla’s sustainability goal is that eventually all of their manufacturing energy needs are satisfied through renewable sources, which aligns with Ingersoll Rand’s sustainability goal of reaching 100% renewable energy by 2050.
