  • Global Category from Frost & Sullivan

    Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (hereinafter, “TMEIC”; President & CEO Akira Kawaguchi) received the Company of the Year Award in the Industrial Power Electronics – Global category in August 2023 from the global research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan based in California, in the United States.

    Frost & Sullivan bestows Best Practices Awards annually to companies that have achieved outstanding performance in respective industries based on a rigorous analytical process. TMEIC has won the most prestigious Company of the Year Award. This marks the seventh time for TMEIC to receive the award with the first occasion in 2015.

    TMEIC received this award for its outstanding efforts in consolidating expertise across various company divisions, spanning diverse industrial sectors, primarily through the Energy Resource Solutions Project (ERS-PJ). These efforts have allowed TMEIC to stay current with market trends, including the move towards carbon neutrality and to introduce advanced products such as self commutated rectifier for hydrogen production promptly. TMEIC was also recognized for its initiatives in the renewable energy sector, which has been a focal point, having shipped a cumulative total of 45GW of photovoltaic inverters, thereby delivering value to customers as a market leader in the power electronics field.

  • TMEIC Industrial Systems India Private Limited (hereinafter, "TMEIC India") a Group company of Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems Corporation (hereinafter, "TMEIC") announced that the company signed a Research and Development Agreement with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. The collaboration will focus on research and development of products featuring advanced technologies in the field of Power Electronics.

    Current partnership is in line with TMEIC India’s commitment to deliver greater value to customers through continuous technological innovations. The agreement will focus on leveraging the expertise of both organizations to create innovative and sustainable solutions for the power industry.

Harish, Dean of Research and Development, IIT Kanpur in a function held at IIT Kanpur on March 27, 2023. Mr. Sreekanth Menoth, Program Manager of Product Development and Mr. Ananda Sai Veluganti, Technology Executive from TMEIC India along with Dr. Suvendu Samanta, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Dr. Gururaj Mirle Vishwanath, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering joined the signing event.

    Under the terms of the agreement, TMEIC India and IIT Kanpur will work together to research, develop and test new power electronics products that meet the growing demand for efficient and environment-friendly energy solutions. The collaboration will bring together the research capabilities and resources of IIT Kanpur and the industry expertise of TMEIC India to develop cutting-edge products that will benefit both the industry and the environment.
