PBA TO SHOWCASE LATEST MOTION SOLUTIONS FOR SEMICONDUCTOR SYSTEMS AUTOMATION PARTNERS AT SEMICON SEA 2024
Exhibits and featured products include a proprietary high-precision gantry as well as key selections from the latest suite of Z-axis positioning motion solutions, targeted at Southeast Asia’s semiconductor industry.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 16 May 2024 - PBA will showcase its latest motion solutions at the upcoming SEMICON SEA 2024, to be held over three days, from 28 to 30 May. In line with the focus of the exhibition, PBA announced its selected line-up of featured machinery exhibits aimed at systems builders and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the semiconductor industry.
With the aim of connecting with system partners and industry players, PBA’s booth for the tradeshow, held at Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur (booth number 107, Hall 4), has been carefully curated with demonstrations of best-in-class, innovative automation products and motion solutions.
PBA’s Engineering & Sales team will also be on hand to present PBA’s capabilities in design, build and manufacture of direct drive motors, actuators, and modules, as well as putting our core competence in precision motion under the spotlight – the offering of standard solutions for high-precision stages with customised specifications to meet the most rigorous requirements yet with shorter delivery lead times.
Additionally, PBA will also feature an introduction to our network of Robotics & Automation ecosystem partners, with over 50 principal brands of robotics peripherals & devices, encoders, motion control products and mechanical components - completing the company’s array of offerings as a one-stop motion expert & automation solutions provider.

Showcase of PBA’s capabilities in Customised Precision Stages & Gantries
- The Ultra-Precision Flexible H Gantry will be on demonstration during the exhibition to display PBA’s unrivalled solutions which boast excellent positioning accuracy in challenging applications. One of PBA’s industry-leading gantry solutions, the Flexible Gantry is built for high speeds and large payloads without compromising accuracy, repeatability or throughput. Powerful PBA direct drive motors enable the fastest speed and highest acceleration available in the market, while its feedback and control features maintain high precision for process applications such as Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), dispensing, pick-and-place and Automated assembly.
PBA’s team will also be on hand to share information on our in-demand Air Bearing Nano Precision Gantry – the industry’s top nano-grade precision gantry. This gantry is designed to provide ultra-smooth, dynamic motion performance with ultra-precise positioning accuracy for critical processes in automation. Suitable for cleanroom environments, the range of relevant semiconductor industry applications, for which superior precision is imperative, includes precision cutting, high-speed pick-and-place, high-accuracy inspection and more.

- The PZA-H High-Precision Z Positioning Actuator with low-profile design sets the industry standard for vertical motion performance. It is ideal for AOI inspection automation systems. Unlike traditional ball screw or belt actuators, its special pneumatic cylinder design incorporates dual side-mounted pneumatic counterbalances that could prevent damages caused by power failure. Its space-efficient design provides minimal friction, offers high precision, repeatability, speed and reliability. While compact in size, it has remarkable dynamic abilities and high payload capacity up to 20Kg. The PZA-H actuator is the superior choice for outstanding vertical motion control, and space-saving systems required by AOI solutions in automation manufacturing.
- Multi-Head High Speed Pick-and-Place Module is the latest release in our series of Z Axis Motion Solutions. The Multiple Z-axis module is a proprietary pick-and-place module designed for efficiently handling multiple items simultaneously in industrial automation applications. It consists of 4 vacuum end-effectors, each capable of picking up items and placing them precisely at predefined locations independently. It features a compact ironless motor, enabling users to adjust the pitch of each axis to achieve the smallest gap possible. With its direct drive motor, it excels in delivering exceptional speed and acceleration, making it ideal for addressing high-speed pick and place motion challenges.
