Taipei MCT Circular Line North and South Sections E&M System, AFC, and Trackworks Project
CTCI Corporation has won a contract with consortium partner Alstom, global leader in sustainable mobility, to provide system-wide electrical and mechanical (E&M) works for Taipei Metro’s circular line north and south sections. The 20.66-km circular line north and south sections categorized as medium capacity driverless transit include 18 underground stations and a depot. Once completed in 2031, they will join the current section of circular line in operation to form an outer ring linking red, blue, orange, green, brown lines, and Taoyuan Metro Airport Line, bringing convenient means of transport to people living in Greater Taipei Area. The scope of contract includes driverless rolling stock, track work, depot equipment, system integration, power supply, telecommunication, ticketing, platform screen doors, and monitoring system.
Taipei MCT Wanda Line (Phase I&II) E&M System, AFC, and Trackworks Project
CTCI was awarded WanDa Line (Phase I&II) E&M System, AFC, and Trackworks Project from Department of Rapid Transit System (DORTS), Taipei City Government by joining hands with the French multinational company ALSTOM Transport S.A. and Alstom Brasil Energia e Transporte Ltda. The phase I&II of the contract consists of twenty-two stations and one depot and is 22.8 km long (including 700 m for branch line). This is a system-wide E&M contract, whose scope encompasses rolling stock, signaling (platform screen doors included), power supply, communication, automatic fare collection system, trackworks, depot equipment, and Project Management and System Integration. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2028 which is a medium capacity driverless transit system. Once completed, the 22.8-km Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin Line will boost Taipei metro network by connecting Xindian Line, Circular Line, Tucheng Line, and Xinzhuang Line.
CTCI was awarded the power supply system contract for Taichung Rapid Transit Systems in April 2011. The approximately 16.71 km route has 16 elevated stations, 2 ground stations, 2 bulk supply substations (BSS), and 1 five-level depot. The route links the Taichung THSR Station and the Taichung City center, which connects the Beitun, North, Xitun, Nantun, South, and Wuri Districts in Taichung City, providing an efficient and fast means of transportation for riders while effectively relieving traffic jams.
CTCI won the trackwork contract for Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit Downtown Line Stage 3 project in February 2011. The approximately 21km route length with 16 stations aims to provide efficient and fast travel for commuters from the eastern sector of the island to the city centre. The line, due to open in 2017, will provide a viable alternative for commuters seeking to switch to rail transport from cars, and help relieve stress on the already heavily congested road network. In the face of an extremely challenging schedule, CTCI was able to achieve all the monthly project milestones on time. In addition, CTCI received two Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) awards from the client for its excellent safety track record and construction safety standards.
CTCI worked closely with Taoyuan International Airport Company (TIAC) to deliver an intelligent automated baggage handling solution that enabled TIAC to effectively manage rapid passenger growth.
