Overview

Formed following work with leading automotive companies Volvo, BMW, and Bosch, Apitronix is commercialising a new class of processor that delivers 60x the usable real-time performance, overcoming rising costs and time-to-market challenges faced by OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

Apitronix’s novel microprocessor uses an array of 220 RISC-V cores, which communicate using a unique real-time messaging system, delivering 60x the performance of leading automotive MCUs (249,000 CoreMark™). This enables automatic code generation, accelerating vehicle development timelines by up to 12 months while also lowering component costs.

Apitronix tools allow Simulink models to be run without hand-optimisation of code, and ensure full isolation between processes. The high computational capacity is perfect for centralising in-vehicle compute and for integrating external IC functionality, meeting the requirements of software-defined vehicles.

With the first silicon ready in December 2025 and full production in 2026, Apitronix seeks partners to work on integrating the technology into electronic control units, automotive central-compute and defence products.

Collaboration Opportunities
• Demonstrators using the technology for automotive application: trials on implementing automotive real-time software for vehicles with automotive OEMs, ECU vendors and embedded software teams
• Joint development of Simulink real-time coprocessors for industrial and automotive ethernet RCP applications
• Joint development with RISC-V vendors around hybrid architectures combining Apitronix real-time with conventional architectures
