  • High‑Performance O‑Rings
Meeting All Your Semiconductor Sealing Needs...

  • O-Rings are the most widely used seal because of their flexibility, ease of use and inexpensive production methods. Suitable for a wide variety of static applications, they are either specified as a single sealing element or as energizing elements for two-component seals and wipers.

Our unique and focused range of leading-edge materials delivers exceptional sealing integrity in critical semiconductor processes.

Material options for semiconductor sealing include Isolast® PureFab® Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM), Resiflour® PureFab® range of premium Fluoroelastomers for high purity and low trace metal content as well as other Fluoroelastomer (FKM) grades, where process chemicals are less aggressive.

Our O-Rings are both cost-effective and perform highly in almost every environment. No matter if you need metric or inch, standard or custom-made O-Rings – any size of O-Ring seals is available – including giant O-Rings using our proprietary FlexiMold® process.

  • Multi-Component Parts
Custom-designed products to improve integrity and total cost of ownership...

  • We can effectively bond our elastomer materials, including Isolast® PureFab® Perfluoroelastomers, to a wide variety of surfaces including, stainless steel and mild steel, aluminum and various plastic substrates. This gives the major advantage of maximizing seal integrity, providing ease of assembly, reduced inventory and cost-effective sealing solutions.

    Requirements:

    • High chemical resistance
    • Must withstand aggressive chemicals and operate in steam up to +150 °C / +302 °F
    • High cleanliness

    Solution:
Isolast® FFKM Perfluoroelastomer bonded to metal consolidated three parts into one. The resulting design of sealing element proved to be highly cost effective. Total cost was reduced by extending replacement intervals, a reduction in the amount of sealing material required and lower assembly costs. The component proved extremely effective and the same concept is being used across the customer’s product range.

  • Custom-made Engineered Thermoplastics
    Improving performance and simplifying assembly...

  • A wide range of high performance, high modulus thermoplastics are available for use as custom-molded and machined components. Grades can optimize operation on structural, chemical, electrical and high-performance bearing applications.

Custom and near-net molded shapes save machining time and money, while properties can be matched to requirements with additives. High modulus materials provide excellent chemical compatibility and wear properties.

Engineered thermoplastics are ideal for many semiconductor applications, such as wafer processing and handling, including bearings and bushings.

Parts can be combined with other machined parts and seals to make sub-assemblies, which improve performance and simplify product assembly processes. Plastic injection molded and machined parts are also often used as inserts for products such as overmolded Isolast® FFKM wafer carrier seals, where increased rigidity is needed to ease product assembly or to obtain improved stability.

  • Turcon® Varilip® PDR
    High speed rotary sealing...

  • Constructed from one or multiple Turcon® Polytetrafluoroethylene-based sealing elements, which are mechanically retained in a precision machined metal body, Turcon® Varilip® PDR (Performance, Durability, Reliability) rotary shaft seals provide positive dynamic sealing at high rotary speeds.

Characterized by low friction and stick-slip-free running, the seal reduces temperature generation, permits higher peripheral speeds and lowers power consumption.

Tests show that Turcon® Varilip® PDR requires only around 50 percent of the torque of a radial oil seal when running in Fomblin® oil, commonly used in semiconductor vacuum pumps. This results in a long-service life, with maximized mean time between planned maintenance and greater productivity.

Benefits of Turcon® Varilip® PDR seals include:

    • Low-friction to facilitate reduced power loss and friction-induced heat
    • Unique self-lubricating hydrodynamic feature to further reduce friction
    • Advanced geometries engineered to give excellent performance in almost every high-speed rotary situation
