  • Meaghan A. Merrill has joined our team as the new Production and Engineering Manager. She received a B.S. from Virginia Tech in 2014. At Virginia Tech she majored in Materials Science and Engineering with concentrations in both Polymer Science and Ceramic Engineering, minoring in Green Engineering. Meaghan spent a summer at Tianjin University, in Tianjin, China. There she visited numerous companies and learned about different manufacturing techniques and operations. Meaghan interned at a Fortune 500 company, where she worked on improving the material composition for their bonded-abrasives products.  After graduation, Meaghan spent a year working as a Product Engineer for an aerospace engineering company before joining our team at ICE.  "This is an exciting opportunity for me to join the team at ICE and bring my skill-set and knowledge to a continually growing technical business.  I look forward to working side by side with the engineer team and the machinists to improve and extend the processes currently in place at International Ceramics.", states Ms. Merrill.

    Meaghan spends her free time training for the Pan Mass Challenge. For the second time, Meaghan will partake in the two day,192 mile bike ride across Massachusetts. This August she will ride from Sturbridge, MA, to Provincetown. MA, raising money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

(Bud) Higgins and his two sons Jay Higgins and Andy Higgins in February, 1987.  This family owned and operated business has grown significantly over the years.  We now have two manufacturing facilities in the United States and we sell ceramics to clients all over the world.

    MACOR (Machinable Glass Ceramic) Plates, Bars and Rods

    Macor has a continuous use temperature of 800°C and a max temperature of 1000°C. Its coefficient of thermal expansion matches most metals and sealing glasses. It is non-wetting and has zero porosity. Macor is an excellent insulator at high voltage and various frequencies.
