  •  Turck introduces Harness and Cable Assembly Solutions, a specialized engineering team that’s dedicated to designing custom solutions for challenging applications. The harness team draws on Turck’s industry leading connectivity expertise to solve the most difficult connectivity applications, from offering standard cable and wire assemblies to developing custom overmolded harness solutions. Whether an application must withstand extreme environmen-tal conditions, combat continual flexing or meet specific certifications, Turck works diligently to get the job done.

    This in-house design team partners with customers to efficiently solve their ap-plication challenges. With a full-service approach to simplify the design process, Turck is able to transform a napkin sketch into a finalized product, manufacture directly from customer prints, or employ an in-house toolshop and testing service to run the project from start to finish.

    Turck’s harness and cable assembly capabilities lead the industry, and include au-tomated strip crimping, hot stamping, looming, termination of industry standard connectors, and potting.   •  Turck is pleased to announce the addition of the CIP Safety Hybrid Safety Block I/O module to our industry leading lineup of eldbus technology products.

    The hybrid safety concept from Turck combines both safety I/O and general purpose I/O in a single, rugged, on-machine, remote I/O device. The CIP Safety (TBIP) module expands the existing hybrid safety oering, which already includes an option for PROFIsafe over PROFINET.

    Both IP67 hybrid modules can be adapted to the actual signal requirements of an installation through the use of congurable input/output points and by leveraging the exibility of IO-Link. On the safety side, the hybrid modules oer two safety inputs for connecting safety sensors, such as light curtains or emergency stop buttons. Two additional safety channels can be used as either inputs or outputs. The general purpose (non-safety related) side includes four congurable discrete inputs/outputs capable of switching up to two amps when used as outputs. Two IO-Link master ports are also available, which oer an additional 32 points of congurable discrete I/O when used with Turck IO-Link hubs.

    These devices can be used as remote safety I/O, or even operated as a standalone safety controller for local safe I/O; this allows the implementation of safety functions without the need for a safety PLC while still providing safety diagnostics and general purpose I/O data to a higher level non-safety PLC.

    The high IP65/IP67/IP69K degrees of protection allow use in the most demanding environments. Decentralized plants and modular machine concepts can be implemented withouth the need for additional control cabinets.

  • Turck is pleased to announce the addition of a new form factor to its cylinder sensor line: the BIM-UNC series.

    While the sensor specifications and pricing remain in line with its BIM-UNR sibling, the updated smooth cylindrical body of the BIM-UNC series offers a solution to troubling applications where a proper fit with C-grooves is challenging do to simple variations in tolerances or differences of shape. Additional mounting bracketry is not required.

    The BIM-UNC is rated to IP67, with a standard temperature rating of -25 to +70 °C. Connection is via a two meter potted cable consisting of 2 mm TPU cable. Pigtails with various connections are also possible.

    Initial availability for this sensor will include AP6X output configuration.
