  • RFG 3000 (series) Improvements for Axcelis
    (RFG‐3000 3155038‐000 & 3155038‐004; RFG‐3001 3155089‐005; RFG‐3002 3155089‐010)


    Issue 1:  Amplitude/Frequency fluctuations causing sync issues with Axcelis Implant tool.


    Problem: Evaluation of ten RFG‐3000 series RF Generators revealed seven different CEX configurations.


    Solution: Upgrade (or more accurately, up rev) the CEX circuitry to more closely match the CEX configuration in the RFG‐3002 model.


    Secondary: There should not be any issues when using the configured units on other equipment whether the CEX option is utilized or not.


    Cost: The upgrade is included in the repair cost.


    Issue 2: Limiting – This issue only applies to the RFG‐3001. The RFG‐3000 & RFG‐3002 already have this feature.


    Problem: The RFG‐3001 does not have a Reflective Power Limiting feature. If the Reflective Power exceeds 250 Watts the RF generator will not fold back to protect itself.


    Solution: Configure the RFG‐3001’s to have a Reflective Limiting circuit just like the RFG‐3000 and RFG‐3002.


    Secondary: There should no secondary issues when using the configured units on other equipment as the RFG‐3000 and RFG‐3001 are already used interchangeably.


    Cost: The upgrade is included in the repair cost.
