    NEW SAMPLE-DRAW UNIT

    WARNS OF GAS LEAKS

    IN HAZARDOUS AREAS

A rugged new explosion-proof sample-draw system unit that can “see” leaking toxic or explosive gases in critical areas has been introduced by Minneapolis-based Sensor Electronics.

Because it can spot gas leaks in remote production lines, storage facilities, work stations and similar points, this unit is particularly well –suited for semiconductor, petrochemical, process controls and similar industrial and research applications.

In operation, an extended-life diaphragm pump streams ambient air into a manifold holding one to five barrels, each fitted with a factory-tuned sensor that detects only one specific gas.  If that gas level ever reaches a dangerous con concentration the unit triggers an immediate alarm.

This new sample-draw unit can check/correlate/control any of more than 200 different gases.  A cylinder/module (foreground) holds a plug-in gas sensor that can be changed in less than a minute.  Sophisticated diagnostics automatically recalibrate for any new gas – and gas sensor.

The sample-draw unit teams with a dedicated transmitter to signal alarms; it also shows real-time gas values on a readout panel, and in case of circuit troubles it spells out what’s wrong where, including the pump, gas sensor, flow-rate.

More information about this new rugged sample-draw detection unit is available:  Sensor Electronics, 12730 Creek View Avenue, Savage, Minnesota 55378, 800-285-3651, www.sensorelectronic.com or sales@sensorelectronic.com. Or visit us at booth 1262 for a demonstration.

  • NEW GAS DETECTOR

    “SEES” ONLY C4F6

A sophisticated new gas detector that warns of dangerous concentrations of C4F6 (hexafluorobutadiene) – a toxic/explosive gas widely used in semiconductor production – has been developed by Sensor Electronics/USA.

Exquisitely engineered, the compact detector sieves out all the other gases, seeing only C4F6 (Sifren).  And extreme sensitivity means it pinpoints even trace amounts – down to 10 ppm  - of the hazardous gas.

Advanced electronics coupled with rugged construction means the detector works for years – even decades – with minimum – if any – downtime.

The detector ignores temperature/humidity variations, shrugs off shock, vibration.  A detector can operate as a stand-alone unit, or be fitted into an existing security network.

More information: Visit our booth 1262 for a demonstration.

  • SEC IREvolution
SEC IREvolution™ is a complete self contained optical hydrocarbon gas detector....

  • The SEC IREvolution™ hydrocarbon detectors are designed to be used as an upgrade in the same
applications where catalytic bead sensors have been applied.
    - Refineries, process applications - Gas turbines
    - Drilling and production platforms - Chemical plants
    - Fuel loading facilities - Compressor stations
    - Oil well logging - Wastewater treatment facilities
    - LNG/LPG processing and storage facilities - Transportation facilities

    Operation / Description
SEC IREvolution™ is a complete self contained optical hydrocarbon gas detector. The sensing
and reference elements are self-compensating for optical integrity and other signal inhibitors. The
industry standard 4 - 20 mA analog output provides remote alarm, fault and calibration signals.

  • The SEC Sample Draw provides the ability to pull a gas sample from a remote area, confined space, chamber
and measure it remotely up to 200’ distance.
    The features include the following:
    ● Modular design of sensor allowing for easy replacement and change of sensor board or sensor module
    ● Two independent 4-20 mA outputs to monitor both the sensor and the pump
    ● Two independent data wires to be used for calibration and communication between SEC transmitters
    ● Can be used with the SEC 3120 Transmitters
    ○ The 3120 Transmitter will monitor the pump and the sensor simultaneously
    ○ The unit can be mounted separately from the SEC 3120 Transmitter
    ○ Easy flow calibration can be done by transmitter, no use of flow meter required
    ○ Flow rate set by ‘Cal Value’ on transmitter, pump will automatically adjust to meet flow rate

  • The SEC 3000 gas detector is a unique design combining intrinsically safe and explosion proof approved
standards. This allows for quick and simple field installation of a calibrated sensor module into the gas
detector in hazardous locations with power applied.
The SEC 3000 sensor module retains operating parameters and calibration settings. Once the sensor
module is plugged into the gas detector, the sensor module automatically uploads current information to
the control board in the SEC 3000. Changing to a different type of gas sensor is accomplished by only
changing the sensor module board. The existing housing and wiring remains intact.
An industry standard 4-20 mA analog output provides remote alarm, fault and calibration signals. The
entire unit utilizes self-diagnostics, identifies problems and continuously transmits status.
The SEC 3000 can be used in conjunction with the SEC 3100 or SEC 3120 explosion proof or DIN nonexplosion
proof transmitters. The SEC 3100 and SEC 3120 have a backlit LCD display, non-intrusive
local calibration, 4-20 mA output, non-intrusive local configuration, optional relays, RS485 interface and
    intrinsic barrier.
