  SCOTTS VALLEY, CA, May 21, 2023 – Digital Dynamics, Inc. (DDI) today announces the additional certification by TÜV Rheinland for its FUSION.IO safe interlock controller with built-in safe interlock timers.  FUSION.IO with safe interlock timers meets the stringent requirements of IEC 61508 SIL3, IEC 62061 SIL C 3 according, and EN ISO 13849-1 Cat. 3 / PL e.

  The Interlock Timer feature enables the system designer to incorporate precise timing delays between DIN (digital input) interlock signals and SOUT (safety out) output signals as needed using DDI’s Interlock Builder™ configuration utility.  Incorporating interlock timers within the FUSION.IO interlock system enables the machine designer to implement a timer based safe interlock system without the need for external safety PLCs and hard-wired relay interlock boards.

  Timers are incorporated into DDI’s Interlock Builder™ configuration utility as a configurable logic device, complementing DDI’s powerful, intuitive ‘drag ‘n drop’ Boolean logic symbol library.  Timers include rising edge ON, falling edge OFF and pulse ON-OFF. Timing resolution is 125 microseconds, up to maximum period of over nine hours.
