Bavaria is one of the biggest hubs of the semiconductor and microelectronics industry in Europe.
In autumn 2021, Minister of State Hubert Aiwanger launched the Bavarian semiconductor initiative with the aim to promote the industry and the region as a business location and make supply chains more resilient.
The BAVARIAN CHIPS ALLIANCE is one of the pillars of this initiative of the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
The network's mission is to boost knowledge exchange and collaboration both among the partners of the semiconductor value chain and with science and users.
Bayern Innovativ coordinates the BAVARIAN CHIPS ALLIANCE by involving existing cluster and network structures, bringing together stakeholders to establish a Bavaria-wide semiconductor ecosystem and interconnecting activities in Germany, Europe and the world.
