  • MALAYSIA SETS TO UNVEIL ITS EXCELLENCE WITHIN SEMICONDUCTOR VALUE CHAIN AT SEMICON WEST 2024

    The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) will be showcasing the capabilities of ten (10) Malaysian semiconductor-related manufacturers at SEMICON West 2024, held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California, from July 9th to 11th, 2024. Malaysia Pavilion is located at Booth No. 5854, North Hall.

    This year witnessed MATRADE’s 15th participation in the SEMICON West exhibition. The Malaysia Pavilion will feature a diverse array of microelectronics, including state-of-the-art products and technologies in automated testing equipment (ATE), automated optical inspection (AOI) equipment, electronic manufacturing services (EMS), printed circuit board and box build assemblies, industrial systems and equipment, and fabrication of precision parts. The prominent Malaysian companies featured in the pavilion include CG Global Profastex Manufacturing, Cortex Robotics, ECA Advanced Solutions, Engrich Solutions, Interface Solutions, JKS Engineering (M), Mplex Technology, SCP Automation, TSG Automation, and Weng Seng Engineering Corporation.

Malaysia is capitalizing on strong global demand by moving up the value chain, focusing on front-end and high-value activities, particularly in integrated circuit (IC) design, advanced packaging, and expanding wafer fabrication capabilities,” said Irvin Francis, the Trade Commissioner of MATRADE Los Angeles.

    Electrical and electronics (E&E) products constituted the largest share of Malaysia’s total exports in 2023, valued at USD126.18 billion, representing 40.4% of the overall share. Semiconductor devices and ICs accounted for a staggering 67.3% of Malaysia’s total E&E exports in 2023, valued at USD 84.95 billion, with major export markets included Singapore, China, Hong Kong, USA, and Taiwan. In 2023, Malaysia ranked as the 10th largest exporter of E&E products and the 6th largest semiconductor exporter worldwide.
