Overview
Drake Plastics initiated operations in 1996 with the extrusion of machinable stock shapes made from glass-reinforced Torlon® 5030 PAI to support the Javelin Missile program. The Cypress, Texas, manufacturer has since expanded its portfolio with extruded machinable shapes and injection molded parts made from Torlon® PAI, PEEK, PAEK, Ryton® PPS, and other ultra high-performance polymers. Among its developments are CryoDyn® CT-200 cryogenic polymer shapes, a higher-performance alternative to PCTFE ; cost-efficient Torlon PAI and Ultem 2300 Seamless Tube® that minimize material loss in machined parts with a circular configuration, and the industry’s largest extruded rod diameters and plate thicknesses.
