Lokring Technology LLC's 'Cold Weld' is the only ASME B31 qualified mechanical connector. It is used by every major energy & industrial corporation to improve site safety, reduce costs, and optimize system efficiency. Over the past 25 years, Lokring has pushed the boundaries of code developments for mechanical connections in ASME B31 & ASME SC III for Nuclear Piping.
The unique metal-to-metal seal of the LOKRING® connection provides extraordinary sealing integrity in both liquid and gas services. Unlike other mechanically attached fittings, there are no elastomeric or rubber seals, O-rings or gaskets which can degrade and leak over time from chemical attack, fire, vibration, temperature cycling, cold flow or loss of elasticity.
As a result, fugitive emissions typical of leak-prone screwed or flanged connectors are eliminated.
Due to the speed of installation, the mechanical fittings can considerably improve project scheduling & delivery since the fittings require less skill to complete than a welded connection. This can introduce labor stacking for construction by eliminating all hotwork associated with field welding.
