Come see us for dissimilar metal bonding & UHV.

Overview

Engineer Great Things with Atlas Atlas Technologies offers design, development, and manufacturing of bonded dissimilar metal flanges, fittings and transitions as well as custom Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) chambers. Whether you have a napkin sketch, a full-fledged design, or just need a handful of our US-manufactured bimetal products, we can help. Come talk to us about your next engineering challenge.

  • Al & Ti Specialty Vacuum Chambers

For applications requiring non-magnetic, contamination-free vacuum environments, aluminum and titanium chambers offer benefits especially important for ultra-high vacuum (UHV), extra-high vacuum (XHV), and ultra-high purity (UHP) applications.

LESS CONTAMINATION - Aluminum contains about ten million times less hydrogen than stainless steel. It also has little carbon and absorbs less gas from the atmosphere when a chamber is opened.

THERMAL CONTROL - Aluminum chambers can be rapidly heated and cooled, and the process of baking out impurities is faster and more complete.

NON-MAGNETIC Aluminum chambers are non-magnetic and offer no measurable disruption to electron and ion optics.

REDUCED RESIDUAL RADIATION With a short neutron activated half-life, aluminum offers huge disposal savings and a priceless reduction in potential exposure to personnel.

TITANIUM offers low thermal conductivity and expansion, greatly reduced contamination, and is non-magnetic for ultra-pure XHV applications.

  • Bimetal Flanges, Fittings, Crosses & Tees

In nearly every complex vacuum system found across every industry - from accelerator beam lines to quantum computing systems - Atlas specialty components are critical.

These mechanically robust components are made of dissimilar metals joined together at a molecular level and remain ductile in pyrolytic or cryogenic temperatures. The bimetallic flanges, fittings, nipples, tees and crosses provide users with ultra-high vacuum (UHV) transition joints between one metal and another, allowing weld-up to two different adjacent metals.

Available in combinations of aluminum, titanium, copper, niobium, stainless, and other metals, Atlas bimetal solutions are ideal for semiconductor, quantum, cryogenics, research, and space applications where even infinitesimal porosity or leakage is intolerable. Solid titanium and aluminum options are also available.
