— A ceramic material that combines durability, transparency, and does not rely on rare earth elements —

Daiichi Kigenso Kagaku Kogyo Co., Ltd. (“DKK”, Osaka/Japan, Prime Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange) has recently developed a new calcia-stabilized zirconia material “HSY-0774” within its “DURAZR-S series”.
“DURAZR-S series” zirconia powders are designed to produce highly durable ceramic products. Zirconia for these applications typically use a rare earth element oxide like yttria, as a stabilizer. These rare earth oxides are; however, produced only in a limited number of countries, making stable procurement a challenge. This newly developed product by DKK successfully employs calcia (calcium oxide), which is readily available as a stabilizer. By avoiding the use of rare earth elements, DKK contributes to a more reliable and stable supply of zirconia for ceramic products.
