Overview

Since 1947, Kyowa has been a pioneer in interface measurement. Our legacy began with the development of the Contact Angle Meter and the Tensiometer. For over 70 years, we have evolved these unique measuring techniques to meet the rigorous demands of the semiconductor, nanotechnology, and flat-panel display industries, where interfacial control is synonymous with quality. Interfacial phenomena — such as wettability, adhesion, and surface tension — are the invisible drivers of product value. While often overlooked, mastering these forces is essential for creating high-performance materials that enhance the user experience. We provide the qualitative and quantitative analysis necessary to transform raw materials into high-value finished products. By bridging the gap between surface science and industrial applications, Kyowa empowers you to improve process efficiency and advance science and industry.

  • Versatile contact angle meters: DMo-series

The high-speed camera and computer-controlled dispenser allow for precise measurements of static and dynamic contact angles, surface and interfacial tension of liquids, as well as analysis of surface free energy of solids. A wide range of options are available and lower grade models can also be upgraded later.

  • Portable contact angle meter: PCA-11

The portable contact angle meter PCA-11 is a compact and lightweight device for fully automated on-site measurements of contact angle, surface tension, and surface free energy of solids.
Testing on-site for quality control and surface wettability evaluation, characterized by the contact angle, is often required during manufacturing processes or in the field. The PCA-11 can be used on any material such as glass, metal, film, paper & pulp, polymer, wood, etc., that must be measured on-site or that, due to their size or shape, cannot be analyzed with the usual stationary contact angle measuring instruments.
Weighing only 650g, combined with the single-click fully automated operation and precise measurements, the PCA-11 is the ideal solution for non-destructive surface evaluations.
