IP & ASIC Design for 5G Satellite Radios & Automotive Radars

WEASIC Microelectronics S.A. designs, develops, and markets high quality complex analog and RF IP for wireless communications and wireless sensors applications, helping semiconductor and system companies to shrink the product design cycle.
Weasic's silicon verified IP is designed in the state of the art CMOS, CMOS-SOI and SiGe processes and can be easily ported and customized to serve the development of 5G and Backhaul communications transceivers, mmWave front-end modules, and RADAR sensors.
Weasic offers high-end broad-band frequency synthesizers for low jitter communication applications, as well as RADAR transceiver and modulator IP in state of the art CMOS-SOI process.
Weasic's synthesizer based FMCW modulator for RADAR applications, has low phase noise, high bandwidth and high speed,  while maintaining ultra low INL.
Weasic's RADAR TX/RX IP with the highest output power and the lowest Noise Figure, enables the design of  silicon integrated phased array RADAR transceivers for industrial, ADAS and surveillance applications.
Additionally, Weasic offers all the auxiliary blocks of a complete transceiver such as : Power Detectors, Saturation Detectors, Temperature and Voltage Sensors, Sensor Sampling ADC converters and a big variety of current and voltage biasing circuits.

By leveraging our highly integrated solutions in CMOS, SiGe, and CMOS-SOI processes, time to market can be significantly reduced.
Weasic can customize and adapt designs to meet customer’s specific requirements in a record time.

  • The WEA7681RX22G is a complete Zero-IF receiver for radar applications covering the 76 GHz to 81 GHz automotive band. The receiver integrates a Low Noise Amplifier, a down conversion mixer, a 1st order active highpass filter, a 1st order passive high pass filter and a 3rd order lowpass filter and a variable gain amplifier with digital gain control. The local oscillator chain is also integrated on the same IP. The LO accepts an input at 38 GHz to 40.5 GHz. The receiver has a dual saturation detector scheme for strong blocker detection at the mixer and the filter output. The receiver has a build-in Analog Test Bus (ATB) for complete monitoring of the bias conditions of all blocks, for FuSa. It is implemented in 22FDX FDSOI process. The WEA7681RX22G occupies a silicon area of 1450 um x 450 um.

  • The WEA520SFMCW22G is an ultra-fast ultra-linear FMCW frequency synthesizer capable of generating 1400 MHz Chirps at 20 GHz frequency. It uses a reference input ranging from 20 MHz to 200 MHz, with the use of an external Crystal or clock (CMOS or LVDS). The WEA520SFMCW22G generates an RF signal spanning from 3.5 GHz up to 20.25 GHz with the four integrated VCOs and the use of an RF frequency doubler and divider. The synthesizer utilizes the WEASIC proprietary WeCHIRPTM, wePACTM, weCALTM technologies to provide very fast ramp retracing and settling times while maintaining industry leading phase noise during chirping. The modulator has a phase synchronization capability for coherent operation with other modulators. It also provides synchronized trigger event signals for the RADAR Transmitter and Receiver chips. By the use of internal high PSRR LDOs, the WEA520SFMCW22G can withstand noisy power supply environment. It is powered by a single 1.8 V supply.

  • The WEA728S45G is a wide band fractional–N frequency synthesizer allowing phase synchronization with other synthesizers suitable for applications where phase coherency is required, such as phased array systems. It uses a reference input ranging from 25 MHz to 300 MHz. The reference signal can be generated with an external crystal connected to the integrated crystal oscillator or fed as a CMOS single ended or LVDS differential signal. The WEA728S45G generates RF signals spanning from 7 GHz up to 14 GHz and from 14 GHz to 28 GHz from two single ended outputs. The WEA728S45G is powered by 1.8 V supply. It is implemented in the GlobalFoundries 45RFSOI process.
