Discover High-Performance Sensing Without the Cooling Burden

Overview

IR Vision develops high-sensitivity photonic infrared detectors based on our proprietary Quasi Photo-Dember (QPD) technology. Our detector platform enables intrinsic photodetector gain at zero bias, broadband response from 400 nm to 3.5 μm, and room-temperature operation without thermoelectric cooling. By reducing the size, weight, power, and cost burden of conventional high-performance IR solutions, we aim to enable compact and deployable sensing systems for spectroscopy, gas sensing, smart sensing, UAVs, and other size, weight, power, price and performace (SWaP3) constrained applications. We provide detector components for integration into customer modules and systems, with a roadmap toward broader infrared imaging and sensing platforms.

  Press Releases

  • IR Vision is showcasing our InAs Quasi Photo-Dember (QPD) photodetector at SEMICON Taiwan 2026. The device is based on a proprietary photodetection mechanism designed to provide high infrared sensitivity while operating at room temperature without thermoelectric cooling.

The InAs QPD photodetector offers broadband spectral response from 400 nm to 3.5 μm and enables intrinsic photodetector gain under zero-bias operation. By reducing the cooling, power, size, weight, and cost requirements associated with conventional high-performance infrared detectors, the technology is intended to support more compact and deployable infrared sensing systems.

IR Vision is targeting applications including gas sensing, portable spectroscopy, UAV sensing, industrial monitoring, and other SWaP-C-constrained applications. At SEMICON Taiwan 2026, the company is seeking opportunities to connect with infrared module manufacturers, system integrators, semiconductor manufacturing partners, and potential customers for product integration, sample evaluation, and future co-development.

  • IR Vision’s InAs QPD Photodetector is a next-generation photonic infrared sensor based on our proprietary Quasi Photo-Dember (QPD) detection mechanism. Unlike conventional photodiodes, QPD enables intrinsic photodetector gain at zero bias, providing high sensitivity while reducing power consumption and detector noise. The device offers broadband spectral response from 400 nm to 3.5 μm and operates at room temperature without a thermoelectric cooler. By eliminating the cooling requirement, the detector enables smaller, lighter, lower-power and more cost-effective IR systems. Designed as a compact detector component for integration into existing modules, it targets applications including gas sensing, portable spectroscopy, UAV sensing, industrial monitoring and smart sensing where high IR performance and low SWaP-C are critical.
