  • Expanding Global Reach with ISO Class 8 Cleanroom Capabilities on Three Continents

    Optinova is excited to announce the launch of its state-of-the-art cleanroom extrusion facility in Valley Forge, PA. Certified as ISO Class 8, this new facility is equipped to produce advanced, high-quality tubing solutions and meet the increasing demands of U.S. customers in the years ahead. “My team and I are excited to collaborate closely with our U.S. customers, who will gain the advantage of having a state-of-the-art medical extrusion facility nearby,” said Bruce Bartlett, VP of Sales Americas.

    This milestone marks Optinova’s presence as a cleanroom extrusion leader on three continents—North America, Europe (Finland), and Asia (Thailand). It reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and meeting growing global demand.

    This cutting-edge cleanroom facility, set to begin operations in early 2025, is designed to meet Class 8 standards and align with ISO 13485 certification requirements. This internationally recognized certification ensures compliance with rigorous regulatory requirements across the entire product lifecycle. It reflects our dedication to delivering superior solutions with unmatched reliability and best practices. “With this ISO Class 8 certified cleanroom, we can better serve the market with top-quality tubing solutions across the American continent while reinforcing our role as a trusted partner in medical and industrial applications,” said Jonas Lindström, COO.

    This expansion is part of Optinova’s broader strategy to enhance capacity and introduce new capabilities to meet evolving customer needs worldwide.   • Optinova is delighted to announce that our Valley Forge, PA, USA factory now operates entirely on 100% renewable electricity.

    This major shift marks a significant step forward in Optinova’s sustainability journey and demonstrates our commitment to reducing emissions. “By transitioning to renewable electricity, we are moving closer to aligning with Scope 2 standards and supporting sustainable energy practices,” states Dania Escobar, Group Sustainability Manager.

    This achievement directly supports our broader environmental goals. Optinova’s CEO Rom Mendel states, “This marks another important milestone on our journey to achieving net-zero CO2 emissions (Scope 1 & 2) by 2035 and reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability.”

    As of December 6, 2024, Optinova Valley Forge joined our Finland facilities in Jomala and Godby, which are both powered entirely by renewable electricity. Additionally, our Optinova Thailand facility has significantly enhanced its use of renewable energy through the installation of solar panels.

    The Optinova Valley Forge facility has recently achieved Class 8 Cleanroom certification and is fully equipped to manufacture high-quality medical-grade tubing solutions to address the growing demand in the U.S. market.

    Through ongoing investments in innovative solutions and infrastructure, Optinova continues to reinforce its role as a global leader in extrusion technology.

  • Optinova is excited to announce the opening of our second production hall in Thailand.

    The new production hall will focus solely on medical extrusions such as PTFE liners, FEP Heat Shrink, and FEP IV tubing for catheters.

    The newly built facility includes a 2000-square-meter state-of-the-art cleanroom hall, underscoring Optinova’s dedication to meeting the growing needs of our customers for high-quality medical tubing.

    “This strategic move is designed to cater to the increasing demand in the medical sector and to reinforce our position as a trusted partner in the global healthcare ecosystem,” says Optinova CEO Rom Mendel. “The vision for the new building is a space that leverages our deep expertise and innovative technologies to set new standards in the medical tubing market.”

    Both the facility, powered by solar cells on the roof, the cleanroom environment, and the new technology platforms placed in the facility are of the latest standards to provide highly reliable tubing in a sustainable way. The facility also boasts contemporary workspace and meeting areas to facilitate collaboration and innovation.

    The inauguration ceremony of the new building marks a milestone since the opening of the first Thailand site in the 1990s. The new building is dedicated to Obi Jacobson the founder and major contributor to the success of Scantube and Optinova.

    “This facility was constructed on schedule in less than a year, and the first lines are already producing. An amazing achievement by the Optinova Thailand team,” states Korpong Vattavoravet, Optinova Thailand Facility Head, “This is just the beginning.”
